The Jordanian Dialect

If you would like to start conversing in a local dialect, we recommend learning a central dialect of the Levant region, such as the Jordanian dialect

Here are a few reasons for you to learn the Jordanian dialect:

  • The Jordanian dialect is very close to the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), so if you’ve already learned (MSA), or are a student who is still learning it, then the Jordanian dialect will be extremely easy to pick up

  • The Jordanian dialect is easy to learn and if you’re planning on travelling or interacting with other Arabic speakers whether for pleasure or business then the Jordanian dialect can be learned within a short amount of time,   and can be easily understood by any Arabic speaker; whether in the Gulf region, the Levant, or in countries in North Africa such as Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria

  • Learning the Jordanian dialect will encourage you to travel and explore Jordan and other Arabic- speaking countries
